不久前，重庆市公安局九龙坡区分局成功打掉了一个为境外电信网络犯罪集团服务的团伙，这个团伙在婚恋网站上注册账号，就是为了物色他们实施“杀猪盘”计划中的受害者。

今年3月，当警方接到线索后，他们发现有人在当地一家网吧里招募无业人员，让他们在婚恋交友平台上注册实名认证账号。这不是一般的大量注册，而是一种有预谋和目的的手段。九龙坡警方的智侦中心与刑侦支队联合进行了深入调查，最终揭开了一个为境外“杀猪盘”提供潜在受害者信息的引流团伙。

经过精心策划和周密部署，民警们成功抓捕了该团伙中的5名嫌疑人。当嫌疑人被捕后，他们坦白 confessed that the gang had hired a large number of people to register real-name accounts on marriage websites, and then used these accounts to chat with women on the platform, pretending to be looking for a partner. They would then ask for the women's WeChat or QQ account information and send it to their accomplices overseas.

The police investigation revealed that this gang had registered over 300 real-name accounts on the marriage website and made profits of more than 100,000 yuan.

What is "piggy bank scam"? The police explained that it is a type of fraud where scammers use online dating platforms to target victims, convincing them to invest in fake schemes. The scammers first pose as successful individuals on dating sites or social media platforms, build rapport with their targets through frequent communication, and eventually persuade them to invest in supposed lucrative opportunities. Once victims have invested money into these schemes, they are unable to withdraw their funds when they realize they've been scammed.

The authorities warn:

Be cautious when engaging in online friendships; do not trust strangers who recommend investment opportunities.

Remember "three don'ts and one must": never click on unknown links; don't believe promises of high returns; never reveal personal information; always verify transfers before making payments.

If you become a victim of such scams, save all chat records and transaction records and report it immediately.
